School and Story Ideas

Posted by Zashe RB on January 26, 2009

Hey there,

Sorry I haven’t posted any entries as much as I used to. Who thought college/school would get in the way? :P

Right now I’m trying to make some notes for my Humanites class because I’ve got a test on Thursday but only got the book today. Yeah, the professors did talk about it in class but there’s a few things in the book that they didn’t add. So… Here I am… Making notes. Well, I’m procrastinating.

We’re talking about Descartes and Freud right now, and that other guy…Nietzsche. So, we’re discussing anything about the mind and right now my head hurts… Too much going on to think straight. And that one thing they say in the book…

“He couldn’t doubt that he was doubting, for if he doubted that he was doubting, he would nonetheless be doubting.”

Of course my first reaction was “What the fuck?” because that is just confusing. Especially when you’ve been sitting there for a couple of hours with your eyes burning from reading for so long. But, one good thing did come out from that…

I came up with the coolest idea for my little story ever but… I’m afraid of going through with it. I’m going to need to discuss this idea with a few others first, to get their input on it. It’s really cool and I can sort of prove it with a few “facts of life”. It’s really cool! I want to say it but I’m not so sure about it yet… ARGH.

So yeah… what was I talking about? My head hurts.. :S

Oh, my idea? I think…

Here’s what I have so far… It’s about Lucifer, Heaven, Hell, Angels, Demons, Archangels (most likely Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael).

Shades of Gray…

Posted by Zashe RB on January 21, 2009

Here’s a small bit – a very small bit – of a short story that I’m working on. It’s so small that it’s barely a significance to anything but it might be enough to catch your eye.

Well, here it is.

Shades of Gray

“I think it all happened when the rain started to fall.”

I remember starin at the side of her face for moments at a time, wondering if she would ever more or even turn to face me. I remember her being still, like a scarecrow guarding its crops yet she shivered not from the cold, but from something else. The memory of it all was a bit blurry, like someone had made everything in shades of gray.

“What else?” the man sitting across from me asked, “What else do you remember, Jerry?”

“It was really quiet. There were no cars out, and no one else was around,” I replied, telling him only part of what I remember.

The next thing I could recall was that it was raining hard, really hard. It felt like someone was throwing large pebbles at me from the sky with a very angry flick of the arm. I had looked at her and she still didn’t move. She didn’t even flinch from the pain I knew she was feeling.

“Tell me everything, Jerry,” the man demanded. His voice was sterner and more intimidating, as if he thought fear would bring my memory back.

Back To School…

Posted by Zashe RB on January 13, 2009

Well, it’s my first day back to school…

I don’t know why but I am so freakin’ nervous right now. I don’t know what to do… I’m nervous, like really nervous.

I’m sitting outside my classroom right now; it starts in about 30 minutes from now. I’m scared, and I don’t know why. Maybe it’ll go away after a while, yeah? Hope so, because my hands are shaking like mad at I type this. I look like a zombie sitting in the dark with the laptop screen light right in my face.

I wonder if I’ll see someone I know? I hope so… I’m not very good with strangers.

The Dark Knight – Chapter One

Posted by Zashe RB on January 8, 2009

Chapter One: It Just Ain’t A Party Without Me

Five people stood tall and proud to the left of the stage with their heads held high and large grins on their faces. Each wore a robe like one would get during a graduation ceremony along with those little square caps. The colours they wore were a deep mahogany with a yellow ‘v’ draped around their necks. Three young men and two young women smiled to the large crowd below and tried hard not to jump with joy.

An elderly, kind of wrinkly, man stood in front of the podium with his back to the five but his face to the audience in front. He spoke slowly but clearly and would occasionally lift his hand to emphasize something he had said. Read the rest of this entry »
